Established and renowned for over 35 years, the Laboratoire de microanalyse of the Department of geology and geological engineering is rebranded, in 2024, MicroLab a platform supported by the Faculty of Science and Engineering of Université Laval. Featuring state-of-the-art equipment operated by a team of experts, MicroLab enables the study of the structure and the properties of a wide variety of materials, including minerals, metals and alloys, concrete, polymers and biomaterials at the nanometric scale. Serving research activities in the natural sciences and engineering, MicroLab meets the growing needs of the scientific community and fosters synergies between Université Laval users and other national and international institutions, government agencies and industries. Thanks to a stimulating and innovative research environment, MicroLab plays a crucial role in the training of highly qualified personnel, in addition to offering high-quality turnkey analytical services. MicroLab's openness to the entire scientific community makes this microanalysis platform an important pole of regional and provincial development.
